Project Overview
● Design and build a device to measure lateral lithium diffusion within the
vanadium oxide layer of a solid state battery
● Device layers: Silicon wafer, chromium bottom contact, V2O5 anode and
cathode, LiPON electrolyte, and chromium top contact.
● To gain a better understanding towards lithium ion diffusion in solid state
batteries
● Determine the rate and profile of the diffusion
● Create a COMSOL model to predict the extent of the diffusion
